DIY VIYNL RECORD BAT DECORATIONS | RECYCLED KIDS CRAFTS | ATTICANATOMY

HOW TO MAKE A VINYL RECORD
BAT

This Diy is easy and can be easily made into another creature or decor piece, your imagination is the limit with this niffty craft.  You will need to make sure you have a few items first....

YOU WILL NEED
*Soldering tool
*Records
*gloves
*safety glasses
*face mask
*pen or pencil
*scissors
* baking pan
*aluminum foil
And a piece of doling OR  a stick

First step :

Print or draw out a shape of a the bat onto a sheet of paper, and cut it out
Next, you will want to trace out the bat onto the record using up as much space as it will permit

Second step:

Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil, and place the record with the pre drawn on bats onto the pan.
Pre heat your oven to the lowest setting , and place the pan with aluminum foil and record into it.
YOU ONLY WANT TO WARM IT UNTIL PLIABLE DO NOT MELT IT
Keep a close eye on the record, you just want it to get bendable and soft enough to cook, this only takes a minute or so.

Make sure you have your gloves on, and take out the warmed record. At this point you will have to work quickly as the vinyl will start to harden fast after removing it from the heat
Start cutting immediately around your drawn out bat, and then set them aside.
( If your bats harden before you can finish cutting, just place them back into the heat and repeat)

Once they are all cut out from the vinyl, you will want to start shaping them, take all of the vinyl bats you have cut out, and place them onto the sheet, when they become pliable, start molding them with your hands into the position you want them to harden in.

When all of the bats have been shaped and hardened, you will move onto the soldering tool part.
PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS WITH THIS TOOL IT IS VERY HOT
Take each bat, wearing gloves, and a mask and start to burn holes into the center of the bat , this will be so you can thumb tack some to the walls , also you will want to burn holes off to the edges of some other bats, so you can string them up and attach them to the wooden rod or stick you chose.

In the final stage you just want to cut some string or twine and tie them to the rod and the bat at different lengths to create a ''hanging/flying'' bat appearance.

*Take the glue gun and put small dollops of glue onto the knots on the string or twine to make sure they stay put!

AND THAT'S IT. Enjoy the bat cave you have created.
