What a long time
Wow, it has been a minute since the last time I posted on the Attic Anatomy blog space, I do have to say I have a lot of excuses...or reasons rather. I have been moving into starting a different business model, I have built up a business with a close friend, and together we created Hermit Hole.I am now a Bee keeper, so as you could probably guess Honey is indeed in the mix. Not only have we be raising our bees and processing our raw honey, we Also have been hard working in the forest gathering plant allies and herbal fungi to incorporate into our medicinal line. We have tinctures and syrups and rendering Bear tallow for tallowed salves and balms. It has been anything short of boring, that's for sure. As of late though, I have noticed I really really miss filming...and yes I am aware my video's are anything but perfect, I still really enjoyed learning and experimenting with my editor programsneedless to say, I am jumping in to all the projects at the same time, who doesn't like a little crazy in thier life? I am going to be changing up the content, and start making video's of things I am passionate about. Bee's, herbal medicines, health food and fungi. Look forward to meeting with you all again :) HERMIT HOLE

DIY VIYNL RECORD BAT DECORATIONS | RECYCLED KIDS CRAFTS | ATTICANATOMY
HOW TO MAKE A VINYL RECORD
BAT
This Diy is easy and can be easily made into another creature or decor piece, your imagination is the limit with this niffty craft. You will need to make sure you have a few items first....
YOU WILL NEED
*Soldering tool
*Records
*gloves
*safety glasses
*face mask
*pen or pencil
*scissors
* baking pan
*aluminum foil
And a piece of doling OR a stick
First step :
Print or draw out a shape of a the bat onto a sheet of paper, and cut it out
Next, you will want to trace out the bat onto the record using up as much space as it will permit
Second step:
Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil, and place the record with the pre drawn on bats onto the pan.
Pre heat your oven to the lowest setting , and place the pan with aluminum foil and record into it.
YOU ONLY WANT TO WARM IT UNTIL PLIABLE DO NOT MELT IT
Keep a close eye on the record, you just want it to get bendable and soft enough to cook, this only takes a minute or so.
Make sure you have your gloves on, and take out the warmed record. At this point you will have to work quickly as the vinyl will start to harden fast after removing it from the heat
Start cutting immediately around your drawn out bat, and then set them aside.
( If your bats harden before you can finish cutting, just place them back into the heat and repeat)
Once they are all cut out from the vinyl, you will want to start shaping them, take all of the vinyl bats you have cut out, and place them onto the sheet, when they become pliable, start molding them with your hands into the position you want them to harden in.
When all of the bats have been shaped and hardened, you will move onto the soldering tool part.
PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS WITH THIS TOOL IT IS VERY HOT
Take each bat, wearing gloves, and a mask and start to burn holes into the center of the bat , this will be so you can thumb tack some to the walls , also you will want to burn holes off to the edges of some other bats, so you can string them up and attach them to the wooden rod or stick you chose.
In the final stage you just want to cut some string or twine and tie them to the rod and the bat at different lengths to create a ''hanging/flying'' bat appearance.
*Take the glue gun and put small dollops of glue onto the knots on the string or twine to make sure they stay put!
AND THAT'S IT. Enjoy the bat cave you have created.

HOW TO MAKE SLIME
Hey you guys, this is going to be a blog post to accompany my video on 'How to make slime"

This is such an easy and quick DIY to do with kids, and just like the play clay I did on a later blog post... the kids LOVED IT! all you will need to start is :
Ingredients:
- Borax
- Food colouring
- White glue
- Water
Tools:
- measuring cups
- two mixing bowls
- ( gloves if you would like)
Once you have all the ingredients, you simply...
PART ONE:
- Mix 1/2 cup of white glue and 1/2 cup of water in a bowl
- Add food coloring after the water and glue mixture is mixed well!
PART TWO:
- Mix 1 cup of warm water and add 1 tsp of Borax
-MIX WELL ( It won't all dissolve, but for the most part mix as much as possible)
PART THREE:
- Pour the glue and food color mixture slowly into the bowl of Borax solution
- knead with hands
- Once the mixture holds its form ( after about 30 seconds to a minute) Remove from Borax solution
That's IT! DONE continue kneading with you're hands to let the slime absorb the excess water and you are ready to play!

DIY PLAY DOUGH WITH KIDS - THEY LOVE IT
DIY PLAY CLAY
ALMOST EVERY kid loves a good play time with the handmade/homemade play dough..especially if they made it ' all by them selves', I have recently done this one with my own children, a few cookie cutters and , READY SET GO... this is how you do it :
Tools you will need:
A large pot
large stirring spoon
large dry surface for kneading the dough
large stirring spoon
large dry surface for kneading the dough
and well... a stove top lol... the ingredient list is quite simple as well and you may find you already have them stocked in the kitchen... all you will need is:
Play Dough Recipe:
1 cup white flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tablespoon cream of tartar (find it in the spice section)
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup water
food coloring
What you will want to do next is mix all the dry ingredients into the pot, then slowly add the water and food coloring mix ( add the food coloring into the water, the more you add the darker the color in the dough will become), and mix well
Then you want to put the stove top burner to medium heat and stir constantly.
-DO NOT LEAVE ON BURNER IT WILL RUIN IT AND BE IMPOSSIBLE TO CLEAN OUT-

The dough will become harder to stir, and you will need to use those mommy muscles at this point!
Stir until the dough turns into a large solid clump and you can no longer stir it, and remove from heat.
at this point I recommend you have a pre floured surface, such as a cutting board or counter top, and knead the dough for approx 5 minutes or until it doesn't have the sticky feeling anymore,
(Kids love doing that part, so let them do it, you're arms will be tired from stirring anyway lol but be careful, as it will be hot to touch for a few minutes )
keep adding small sprinkles of flour as needed to get it to the right texture.
and then YOU ARE DONE!
I will be putting up the video of my children making the dough, they had so much fun and 1 week later they are STILL entertained by it.
TIP: Grab some cookie cutters from the dollar store ( little boys love the gingerbread man cut outs to make little action men from the dough)

ORGANIZATION AND EASY DIY MOMMY SOLUTIONS
HELLO EVERYONE WHO IS READING THIS LONG AWAITED BLOG POST,
I'm back , the holiday season has come to end for the most part, aside from the great NEW YEARS EVE, event that I do not usually partake in...well...because I like to sleep? lol, I will be keeping up with my blogging from now on !! I just finished up with vlogmas on youtube, and if you would like to check those out you can click right here on THIS link :)
With the new year coming I have found my self thinking more and more about those RESOLUTIONS we all find our selves making around this time of year, and I have decided without debate that I MUST de-clutter and become a more organized human! I have been looking on pintrest for some creative new 'simple living' decor and storage ideas and I have found a few I am going to share with you all.. with a bit of design diy and some decor..this is an awesome storage for short people lol...

I found it HERE
But I don't think this would work for my space, but I was thinking great for a kids room??
I have been looking for ways to improve on my ebay/etsy/online stock room, and I am thinking something simple like the link below, but maybe in a clear style bin? or colored bins for a better 'shelf apeal. ?? Hmmm

I found this HERE
after awhile of stumbling through the land of pintrest I started thinking about how to improve this big empty,'imaginationLESS' (not a real word ) playroom we have downstairs...it is white and plain and boring and we just have toys and books in totes as 'toy boxes..so I saw this...

I found this HERE
And I am already mapping out the blueprints in my head as I type! this I think will be at the top of the 'HONEY DO' list!
Right in the next room over you would walk into my VERY dark and dungeon like laundry room
everything is CRAZY and I have miss match baskets! The whole house must think we have a laundry fairy , who magically sorts, washes and folds all the laundry I have one sloppy side 'folding table and piles of clothing that I have to sort! this made me think of a few ideas to make it easier on our laundry fairy', and maybe give those ungrateful little slave drivers a hint .. ehhh LOL jk. but seriously.. great idea...

I found this HERE
which brings me to some much needed kitchen issues that need to be addressed, although I do have a large pantry and another one close by with a door...I have to admit, when it comes time to put away those pots and pans... I am a big FAIL! I just had matching up the sizes and stacking them like janga blocks EVERY time I need to put away or use a pot. So it ends up just being a sloppy pile of metal and glass lids, which just avalanche out onto my feet every time I need one... WELL let me tell you.. I just found the solution! ...
you can find these pins HERE and HERE
I have found so many amazing things on pintrest to help me find some organizational INSPIRATION, and I can't wait to get started on a fresh start on many paths in my life, health, fitness and all that good stuff! I will post my before and afters as I go, and will probably be making some video progression on my Youtube channel as well, so be sure to stop in and check it out, I would love to hear from you guys and see some of the organization pins you might have found!
Talk to you soon! <3
