HOW TO MAKE LAUNDRY SOAP - HOMESTEADING - ATTIC ANATOMY - DIY

HOW TO MAKE LAUNDRY DETERGENT
FRUGAL LIVING

THIS WILL WORK FOR ( HE) MACHINES AS WELL
First a list of tools and ingredients that you will need to get started :

5 gallon bucket with lid
large stir stick or mixer
funnel
large pot
mason jars or empty recycled laundry soap bottles

essential oils or scent booster (optional)
Borax( see bottom link for alternative)
Zote or Fels naptha bar soap (alternatives in link below)
Super washing soda
baking soda
oxy clean (optional)
water

Measurements
2 cups of borax
1 - 14 Oz bar of Zote or Fels naptha bar
2 1/4 cup of Super Washing Soda
1 cup of Baking soda
1/4- 1/2 cup of oxy clean (up to a cup)
Essential oils of scent boosters as desired

STEP BY STEP
Shred your 14 oz of zote (or alternative) flakes into a bowl while you are doing that have a pot of water ( half fill a large pot)  on the stove on med low heat.

once the water is hot but not boiling , add your zote shavings slowly and stir until it is all dissolved in the water

once the zote shavings are all dissolved add your 2 cups of borax to the mixture at this point you can turn the heat off. Stir until the borax has turned the zote mixture into the consistency of dish soap ... it will be thick and smooth.

slowly pour the zote and borax mixture into your 5 gallon bucket, and fill the remaining space in the bucket with hot water from your tap. ( fill as high as possible while still allowing stirring space)

mix the water and borax/zote mixture together with your large stick or mixer
Add in your 2 1/4 cups of Super washing soda , 1 cup of baking soda and your oxyclean
and Mix well.

Once everything has been added and stirred into the bucket, place the lid on to prevent anything from getting in the bucket.
LET IT COOL COMPLETELY
 I left mine over night

After The mixture is cool you can now stir using your stick or mixer, it will be a thick gel consistency ( if it isn't thats FINE it is sill perfectly usable, climate matters for this)

mix it all until it is smooth, you can now add any scent boosters or essential oils at this point.

Now you want to take any containers or jars you plan to store the soap in and fill them all equal parts / half water with the help of your funnel, and then fill the other half of the  bottles/ jars with laundry soap you just made.   They should be equal parts water and soap.

seal the jars/bottles and YOUR DONE!

ORGANIZATION AND EASY DIY MOMMY SOLUTIONS

HELLO EVERYONE WHO IS READING THIS LONG AWAITED BLOG POST,

I'm back , the holiday season has come to end for the most part, aside from the great  NEW YEARS EVE, event that I do not usually partake in...well...because I like to sleep? lol,  I will be keeping up with my blogging from now on !!  I just finished up with vlogmas on youtube, and if you would like to check those out you can click right here on THIS link :)

With the new year coming I have found my self thinking more and more about those RESOLUTIONS we all find our selves making around this time of year, and I have decided without debate that I MUST de-clutter and become a more organized human!  I have been looking on pintrest for some creative new 'simple living' decor and storage ideas and I have found a few I am going to share with you all.. with a bit of design diy and some decor..this is an awesome storage for short people lol...

I found it HERE

But I don't think this would work for my space, but I was thinking great for a kids room??

I have been looking for ways to improve on my ebay/etsy/online stock room, and I am thinking something simple like the link below, but maybe in a clear style bin? or colored bins for a better 'shelf apeal. ?? Hmmm

I found this HERE

after awhile of stumbling through the land of pintrest I started thinking about how to improve this big empty,'imaginationLESS' (not a real word )  playroom we have downstairs...it is white and plain and boring and we just have toys and books in totes as 'toy boxes..so I saw this...

I found this HERE

And I am already mapping out the blueprints in my head as I type! this I think will be at the top of the 'HONEY DO' list!

Right in the next room over you would walk into my VERY dark and dungeon like laundry room
everything is CRAZY and I have miss match baskets! The whole house must think we have a laundry fairy , who magically sorts, washes and folds all the laundry I have one sloppy side 'folding table and piles of clothing that I have to sort! this made me think of  a few ideas to make it easier on our laundry fairy', and maybe give those ungrateful little slave drivers a hint .. ehhh LOL jk. but seriously.. great idea...

I found this HERE

which brings me to some much needed kitchen issues that need to be addressed, although I do have a large pantry and another one close by with a door...I have to admit, when it comes time to put away those pots and pans... I am a big FAIL! I just had matching up the sizes and stacking them like janga blocks EVERY time I need to put away or use a pot.  So it ends up just being a sloppy pile of metal and glass lids, which just avalanche out onto my feet every time I need one...  WELL let me tell you.. I just found the solution! ...

you can find these pins HERE and HERE

I have found so many amazing things on pintrest to help me find some organizational INSPIRATION, and I can't wait to get started on a fresh start on many paths in my life, health, fitness and all that good stuff! I will post my before and afters as I go, and will probably be making some video progression on my Youtube channel as well, so be sure to stop in and check it out, I would love to hear from you guys and see some of the organization pins you might have found!

Talk to you soon! <3
