DIY PLAY DOUGH WITH KIDS - THEY LOVE IT



DIY PLAY CLA

ALMOST EVERY kid loves a good play time with the handmade/homemade play dough..especially if they made it ' all by them selves', I have recently done this one with my own children,  a few cookie cutters and , READY SET GO... this is how you do it : 

Tools you will need:
A large pot
large stirring spoon
large dry surface for kneading the dough 

and well... a stove top lol... the ingredient list is quite simple as well and you may find you already have them stocked in the kitchen... all you will need is:


Play Dough Recipe:
1 cup white flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tablespoon cream of tartar (find it in the spice section)
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup water
food coloring


What you will want to do next is mix all the dry ingredients into the pot, then slowly add the water and food coloring mix ( add the food coloring into the water, the more you add the darker the color in the dough will become), and mix well
Then you want to put the stove top burner to medium heat and stir constantly.
-DO NOT LEAVE ON BURNER IT WILL RUIN IT AND BE IMPOSSIBLE TO CLEAN OUT-

The dough will become harder to stir, and you will need to use those mommy muscles at this point!
Stir until the dough turns into a large solid clump and you can no longer stir it, and remove from heat.

at this point I recommend you have a pre floured surface, such as a cutting board or counter top, and knead the dough for approx 5 minutes or until it doesn't have the sticky feeling anymore,
(Kids love doing that part, so let them do it, you're arms will be tired from stirring anyway lol  but be careful, as it will be hot to touch for a few minutes )
keep adding small sprinkles of flour as needed to get it to the right texture.
and then YOU ARE DONE!
I will be putting up the video of my children making the dough, they had so much fun and 1 week later they are STILL entertained by it.
TIP: Grab some cookie cutters from the dollar store ( little boys love the gingerbread man cut outs to make little action men from the dough)

A HEALTHY MOMMY IS A HAPPY MOMMY!


Hey guys, 

  
    If you have been following me on youtube, you will know that I have just announced a new channel, I will be featuring my daily food and fitness progression.   It will be a vlogging channel where I hope to do some 'juice feasting' and exploring some alternative health options.  People seem to think that as long as you eat 'HEALTHY' that you will be ' HEALTHY'... well the real question is, What is healthy to you?    
               
           My grandmothers view of healthy is a nice juicy pork chop, smothered in canned mushroom soup and milk, with a side of starchy white potatoes, which are then boiled to extreme temps and then smothered in animal fat (also known as gravy) accompanied by a few boiled carrots!   YUMMY. ?? 

             Everyone has a version of healthy, and a lot of people seem to take the 'society exit' to things..by saying things like ... " well, its whole wheat not white so its good for me?"  well exactly my point!  What is ' Healthy'?     
           
On my  Second channel I am going to be experimenting for you! And you can follow my daily food logs on youtube and watch my progress day by day, maybe it will be inspiring for you? or maybe you can just be a supporter to help the others on there health journey.

             I am not doing this for the sole purpose of loosing weight, I want a life style change for my self and my family.
I will be posting new healthy recipes and alternatives to help both my self and anyone else who is following me , to make our transition easier.   These processed foods and unnatural ingredients have cause a lot of health problems for a lot of people. My children are exposed to more food commercials and false advertising then any other generation before it! I don't want them to have this unhealthy view on life or food or anything for that matter, and I fear that if my life continues in this downward spiral of unhealthy living and poor body choices that my children might pick them up and pass them to there children.
This is NOT  a ' diet' it is a life style change and It isn't healthy for our minds to continuously be convincing it's self that we need to do it just for the weight loss, while this is still a goal of mine.. it's not to fit into that ' cute little black dress' or to ' look better in my underwear' it is to FEEL better, awake, energized, emotionally and physically!
I am going to start up a second blog to accompany my second channel and It will be to keep track via blogging, for those of you who are not interested in following on Youtube.
